"Animals or plants all have their own special meaning and existence. And of all these, the one that struck me most was the sunflower. I first became interested in it because of Van Gogh's sunflower. The vitality of the painting was conveyed to me through the paper. When I actually saw sunflowers in bloom in June in Provence, I was once again struck by their beauty. With a round face and bright yellow petals resembling rays of sunshine, the sunflowers are forever following in the footsteps of the sun.
The sunflower symbolises loyalty, sunshine and cheerfulness. It means facing the sun and being positive. The optimism it shows is a constant inspiration to me: to move forward with a strong will in order to follow the ideal in my heart, without fear of any difficulties.
Starting tomorrow, be a beautiful sunflower, when the sun sprinkles down, strong and peaceful."
